Oldham use World Cup for season ticket promotion

Oldham have handed their fans a £1 million incentive ahead of the World Cup this summer.

Latics directors have come up with a scheme in which season-ticket holders will receive a 100 per cent refund on the cost of their ticket in the event of the national team triumphing in South Africa.

Guy Walker, Oldham's sales and marketing manager, told the club's official website: "This is a great way for our fans to back England to win the World Cup for the first time in 44 years.

"Hopefully it will provide an incentive big and powerful enough for fans to purchase season tickets for 2010/11."

To be eligible, fans have been informed that they must purchase their season tickets before May 29.
