Oldham sign West Brom striker Reid outright

West Bromwich Albion striker Ruben Reid has signed for Oldham Athletic in a permanent deal.

The 22-year-old forward, who spent the first half of the season on loan at Walsall, joins the Latics in seventh place in League One, outside the play-off places only on goal difference.

Reid signed for Albion from Rotherham on the eve of last season but struggled to break into the first team and spent the final five months of the campaign on loan at Peterborough.

Following Albion's promotion to the Barclays Premier League, he found himself even further down the pecking order and joined near-neighbours Walsall in August, before returning to The Hawthorns at the start of this month.
