League One Oldham have secured the signing of Sunderland defender Jean-Yves M'Voto on a two-year contract. The 22-year-old impressed for Oldham last season during a loan spell from the Stadium of Light, making 27 appearances before an ankle ligament problem cut short his stay.
Latics boss Paul Dickov told the club's official website: "This signing shows our intent because he was one of the best, if not the best, central defenders in our division last season.
"I'm over the moon to have signed him and Jean has shown a big commitment as he could have made more money going elsewhere. He had lucrative offers from big clubs here and in France.
"Jean enjoyed last season here and the fans, office staff, management and players love him. He also believes in what we're trying to achieve and buys into that."
