Old Firm derby far outweighs Moscow clash - Everton's McGeady

Everton winger Aiden McGeady has rated the Celtic v Rangers Old Firm derby as far superior to that of the two major clubs in Moscow.

The former Hoops star spent three-and-a-half years with CSKA Moscow prior to his January shift to Goodison Park and says that the derby he has contested in Glasgow far outweighs what he experienced in Russia against Spartak.

"The Old Firm game was right up there for me because I'm a Celtic fan and you grow up wanting to score the winner against Rangers," he told reporters when asked about the rivalry which is currently on hold due to Rangers' League One status.

"The Moscow derby is a similar rivalry but while you have 80,000 fans in the stadium you have Spartak and CSKA fans sitting next to each other.

"You wouldn't see that at the Old Firm. I don't think the atmosphere will be any more hostile when they finally do meet again."
