Okazaki and Mainz gunning for Bayern Munich

Shinji Okazaki is determined to produce a winning result when FSV Mainz take on Bundesliga champions-elect Bayern Munich on the weekend.

Die Nullfunfer host the Bavarian giants at the Coface Arena on Saturday knowing that a loss could seal the title for Pep Guardiola's men.

Mainz came from behind to defeat Hoffenheim 4-2 last weekend - thanks to a late Okazaki double - and the Japan international was well aware that he and his teammates must improve to be any chance of stealing some points from Bayern.

"I'm not sure how, but we've managed to get ourselves up into fifth and hopefully we can build on this," Okazaki said after the Hoffenheim triumph.

"But let in one against Bayern and it's all over, so we'll have to play much better than we did today."

Mainz are currently sitting on 41 points, three behind third-placed Bayer Leverkusen, and a whopping 30 in arrears of league leaders Bayern.

Okazaki has scored 11 league goals this season following his summer move from VfB Stuttgart.
