Okaka thrilled to get on Fulham scoresheet in Wigan win

Stefano Okaka was delighted with his goal in Fulham's victory over Wigan Athletic.

The on-loan Roma striker, who was a half-time replacement for David Elm, made an immediate impact against Wigan on Sunday afternoon, slotting home Zoltan Gera's low cross a minute in.

"It was a much better second-half," Okaka told fulhamfc.com. "Wigan made it difficult for us at times and it was disappointing to go behind. But we came back and managed to score two goals, and keep them out further at the other end. It was a deserved three points.

"Of course, it was great to score my first league goal for Fulham and I am pleased also, because it proved to be an important one. I think it gave us the momentum and the spirit to push on and get another - which we did.

"Zolly did really well down the left and put in a great ball. I'd taken up a good position and did what I had to do from the position that I was in. It was a nice strike for me."
