Ojamaa given permission by Estonia to focus on Motherwell

Motherwell striker Henrik Ojamaa has politely turned down a first call-up from the Estonia national team to stay focused on club football.

The 20-year old has scored five goals in eight appearances since joining the Well in January which prompted Estonia manager Tarmo Ruutli to extend an invitation to his squad for next week's friendly with El Salvador in Los Angeles.

But Ojamaa wants to stay in top form for his new club and will not travel with the team which has been hailed by Motherwell boss Stuart McCall.

"We were going to let Henrik go after the Celtic game on Saturday," he said.

"He would have been back for the Dunfermline match the following weekend but all that travelling from LA wouldn't have been ideal.

"However, as it's not a qualifier the Estonia manager agreed he can stay with us. He is on a run and wants to keep involved, which is great."
