Despite stating that Peter Odemwingie was exaggerating his knee injury and saying that the player was 'difficult to work out', West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson has welcomed him back into the squad.
The Baggies boss spoke negatively of the Nigerian striker earlier this week, saying the club has not got value out of him this season after making him their highest earner in the summer following a 15-goal term in 2010/11.
But Hodgson has refused to let it dampen his relationship with Odemwingie who should be back in action against Tottenham tomorrow.
"If I thought he was malingering I would say so," Hodgson said.
"Interpretations are interpretations.
"It's been frustrating for us, having one of your best players out for a long period of time.
"We've been encouraged to think he'll be back a little bit earlier and of course that is also frustrating when it doesn't come off.
"This week was fine, he's got back, he's training, and he'll be available for the game on Saturday, which is great news.
"I think he's a very good player and I'm pleased to have him back."
