Odemwingie urges West Brom to tie down Hodgson

Peter Odemwingie says West Bromwich Albion must secure manager Roy Hodgson to a new contract.

Hodgson, 64, has so far refused to agree a new deal and knows he is an outside contender for the England job.

Odemwingie said yesterday: “We are fine and we ­always were.

“He is an elderly person and I have to respect him as my manager. In my country, we always respect our elders, although sometimes I felt it was a bit harsh.

“We all want him to stay. He has had success here and he has already built relationships with people in the club.”
