Stoke City striker Peter Odemwingie has urged West Brom fans to get behind Saido Berahino.
Odemwingie, himself, fell out with Baggies fans during his time at the Hawthorns.
"You're always going to get that (some boos)," said Odemwingie, speaking on BBC's Match of the Day 2 Extra yesterday.
"Because the fans have their own opinion and they can tell you what they are not happy with.
"But if it keeps going it's a problem, because he's a young kid. You don't punish someone for the same thing twice. It will be difficult for him now, but the fans have a role to play.
"They could make it easier for him because at the end of the day it's not Saido versus the fans.
"It was never Peace versus the fans, it was just a player trying to resolve a situation.
"There's a difference between playing for Jeremy Peace and playing for West Bromwich Albion.
"The fans are the most important people - they always will be."
