Peter Odemwingie wants to hit the 15 goal barrier with West Bromwich Albion this season.
Odemwingie scored his ninth goal of the campaign during last night's 2-2 home draw with fellow strugglers Wigan.
He said: "There have been other strikers moving from club to club and it gives me quite a bit of pride to have similar goal figures to them.
"At the moment the top strikers in the Premier League have about eight or nine goals, the same as myself.
"It gives me a lot of confidence that I have the same number of goals as the top strikers of good teams in England have.
"I think nine goals so far is a good achievement in the Premier League where getting goals is not that easy.
"I won't say I found it easy. I think I am being fed a lot with the ball.
"That's why I get chances to score. If I had taken the chances I've missed, I would now be counting 12-13 goals."
Odemwingie added: "There are 14 games to go and I hope I will get to 15 goals.
"The target was to get to double figures, minimum, and I am nearly there, just one more goal.
"But I won't be happy with one more goal. I will keep pushing to get to 15 and will keep working on my finishing."
