Peter Odemwingie is convinced of good times ahead at West Bromwich Albion.
He believes Roy Hodgson's men can improve on last season's 11th-placed Barclays Premier League finish and break into the top ten after running Chelsea so close on their own patch in Saturday's 2-1 defeat.
"I believe in this team as well because we do have quality," he told the WBA website.
"We have shown that in the first two games and on Saturday we showed that I am in a good team to have played like that against a very good team.
"I'm in a good team and hopefully we will finish in the top ten as that is our target for this season."
He added: "Our players worked so hard, and we were very organised, we did everything we could.
"Some of the boys are saying that sometimes football's not fair.
"We would have been happy with a point, and I think these first two games have been a very good test for our team and I think that in the last two games we have shown that we can compete with the big teams for points.
"I will take only positives from these two games, against the teams with the most quality.
"Chelsea had to work very hard to get the three points from us."
