Peter Odemwingie says he cannot wait to start his first full season with Stoke City.
The Nigerian striker joined the Potters from Cardiff City in January this year as part of a swap deal including Kenwyne Jones.
33-year old Odemwingie scored six goals in 15 outings for Stoke after his arrival but is planning to make more of an impact in 2014/15.
"I'm really looking forward to the new season and I'm happy to be a part of the team again. We have signed some strong players that have added to the talent we already have here and I'm looking forward to working with them," he told the club's official website.
"I have to work hard to earn my spot in the side, without competition you perhaps don't work towards the best of your ability.
"My aim is to carry on from where I left off last year. Since joining the club, I feel I have matured and become a better player.
"It may sound odd, but not scoring as many goals has certainly helped me improve as a team player.
"I feel fit and ready, so I am looking forward to the new season very much. Hopefully we can do as well as we did last season."
