Obsessive planner Chelsea boss AVB even prepared for Man Utd clash media conference

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas' meticulous planning even went into yesterday's press conference for their clash with Manchester United.

Villas-Boas studied up on Sir Alex Ferguson's presser before he turned out for the media.

He said: "I wanted to know exactly what Ferguson had said before I came in here. As for maintaining a low profile, I would rather have 12 points like them.

"Sitting two points behind is not an advantage!

"So I will wait and see whether I need to respond. You can react in many different ways but the most important thing is for the players to have faith in me.

"You never know, they may think I am susceptible to pressure. All I can say is at Porto last year I had my disagreements with the Benfica manager when they were challenging us for the title. Not that those disagreements had any effect on us winning it."
