O'Connor leaves Sheffield Wednesday to join Orlando City

James O'Connor has signed with USL Pro Division club Orlando City.

The 32-year old has departed English League One outfit Sheffield Wednesday to link up with former Stoke City, Everton and Manchester City midfielder Adrian Heath who coaches the Lions.

"There's huge potential here," O'Connor said in a release. "The opportunity to work with Adrian [Heath] and Ian [Fuller] and everyone else is great.

"This is a club that's going places and is something I definitely want to be a part of."

O'Connor began his career with Stoke in 1996 before moving to West Bromwich Albion in 2003 and then onto Burnley following a loan at Turf Moor. He landed at Wednesday in 2008 and appeared in over 150 matches for the Owls.
