Charles N'Zogbia is happy he chose Aston Villa.

N'Zogbia finally elected to join Alex McLeish's side this August after spurning a chance to sign for the Scot at Birmingham City a year earlier.

"I nearly signed for Birmingham and Alex, but I didn't agree personal terms," he explained. "Sometimes it happens. If you are not happy with the contract, no one is forcing you to sign it."

N'Zogbia insists he is settled at Villa and says it is only a matter of time before their new-look side gel, following the summer sales of England wide men Stewart Downing and Ashley Young.

He said: "It is really good to be here. I know from training we have some really good players. It will take time but I think we will be a good team and hard to beat.

"We lost two great players and now have to deal with a lot of young players."
