Charles N'Zogbia is backing Sebastien Bassong to prove his worth at Newcastle United.

Reflecting on the 22-year-old's performances this term, N'Zogbia told the Evening Chronicle: "Sebastien is settling in well. He is learning English quickly and we know what he can do.

"The Premier League is physical and also quick. He has learned about it quickly."

N'Zogbia added: "It is a big step to leave France for England and this is a big stage.

"As far as training is concerned, he is happy. Now he has to do his best to stay in the team.

"This is the Premier League and where everybody wants to play. It is a dream for the French players to play here. Sebastien has always wanted to play in England and now he has his chance."
