NZ warn Blackburn against pulling Nelsen "swifty"

Blackburn Rovers have been told not to try and 'pull a swifty' by stopping captain Ryan Nelsen playing for New Zealand next month.

The Kiwi centre-back is sidelined with a hamstring problem but may return before the All Whites' double-header against Fiji.

New Zealand Football chief Graham Seatter said: "We trust Blackburn manager Mark Hughes not to pull a swifty on this issue."

Sparky responded: "If Ryan's injured, he doesn't make the games. Travelling halfway around the world might not be the best thing."
