NZ kid Lindsay on way to Blackburn

New Zealand teenager Cameron Lindsay has been snapped up by Blackburn Rovers.

The 15-year-old Central United talent attracted interest from Everton thanks to his performances in the Nike Cup and also underwent trial spells with Rangers and Blackburn when undergoing a tour of Britain.

Lindsay has been offered a four-year deal by Rovers and will put pen to paper upon touching down in England.

"I was a bit stunned at first," Lindsay told the North Shore Times. "But now I just want to get out there.

"I'll start in the Under-16s, then the Under-18s and hopefully in the third year, I'll break into the reserves. After that it's the senior side.

"The trial at Blackburn was only meant to be a week long but it got extended to two."
