New York Red Bull have traded Mehdi Ballouchy to San Jose Earthquakes it has been confirmed.
The 29-year old Moroccan midfielder will continue his career at the Buck Shaw Stadium with a 2013 international spot and a 2013 conditional draft pick heading to Red Bull Arena.
"We want to thank Mehdi for his service to the Red Bulls," NYRB general manager Erik Soler said.
"It was a difficult decision to let Mehdi go. However, trading him provides us additional roster and financial flexibility moving forward."
Ballouchy joined New York from Colorado Rapids in September 2010 and made a total of 51 appearances for the Red Bulls during his stay.
