Luke Rodgers' long-winded potential move to New York Red Bulls appears to be closer to happening after his contract with English club Notts County ended. The 28-year old forward and the club decided to mutually terminate his deal ahead of a possible move to MLS with the Red Bulls.
A statement on the Notts County's official website said: "Luke leaves with Notts County's best wishes and the club would like to thank him for his efforts."
Rodgers spent one-and-half seasons with the Magpies, scoring 13 league goals, and helping the club win the League Two title in the 2009/10 season.
Prior to that, he had stints with Shrewsbury Town, Crewe Alexandra, Port Vale and Yeovil Town.
