New York Red Bulls admit they are still on the hunt for a midfielder in the number 10 vein.
NYRB general manager Erik Soler said the club were searching for a competent playmaker now that Rafael Marquez has slotted back into central defence.
Soler revealed that there were a few targets for the Red Bulls but at this stage they were still very much on the lookout for a player to fit the mould.
We think we will do one more transfer within this window. We have three targets and if we get one of those targets I think this team will be very hard to beat,'' Soler told the NY Post. "I think it's already going to be hard to beat, but it's going to be harder.
"We are looking at one position in midfield, and when we have that player we're looking very, very strong. I think. When I asked if that player would be more of a creative, attacking sort rather than a winger or a holding player, he shook his head.
"I think that's a good bet, because we have (Mehdi) Ballouchy, he's a great player, he's doing fine, but if he's not playing we need to more (Joel) Lindpere in there,'' Soler added. "Then you take away from the left side, so we need competition in that spot.''
