NYRB star Cahill prepared for 'critical' World Cup qualifiers

Tim Cahill says he is fully prepared to help Australia qualify for the 2014 World Cup.

The New York Red Bulls star and the rest of the Socceroos squad are readying themselves for a trio of Asian fixtures in June which could determine whether or not they will automatically win qualification to Brazil next year.

First is tearaway group leaders Japan in Saitama on June 4 prior to the Melbourne meeting with Jordan on June 11 and the Sydney clash with Iraq on June 18 for which Cahill is fully prepared.

"It's critical," Cahill said.

"I don't want to speak about the end (result), I just want to focus on Japan and be really focused on the job in hand.

"I'm never over-confident, but one thing I do is put my heart and soul into the job every time I cross the white line.

"I'll take every qualifier at a time, and hopefully help get Australia to a World Cup."

The former Everton ace has been in fine form of late, scoring four goals and providing three assists in 14 MLS appearances so far this season.
