New York Red Bulls have signed 23-year old defender Mike Jones to strengthen their squad even further.
The St Peters native has been added to the playing roster to provide cover for current left-back Roy Miller and right-sided full-back Chris Albright.
Red Bulls general manager Erik Soler said the signing of the former Southern Illinois University star from Sporting Kansas City would be of great benefit to the club.
"We are excited to sign Mike, as we wanted to bring him in to see if he can provide depth to our left back position," said Soler. "We look forward to tracking his progress with us this season."
Jones went straight into the matchday squad for Sunday's 3-3 draw with Portland Timbers but spent the 90 minutes on the bench.
