New York Red Bulls defender Tim Ream is expected to soon join Premier League club Bolton Wanderers.
It was initially felt that the 24-year old, who trained with both the Trotters and West Bromwich Albion prior to the New Year, would remain with the Red Bulls for the 2012 MLS season but it has emerged that a transfer to the Reebok Stadium is on the cards.
"We are in the process of discussions. We are getting closer.""(It's) more likely that (Ream) could end up abroad than it was before Christmas," said New York general manager Erik Soler.
Bolton boss Owen Coyle is hoping to replace star centre-back Gary Cahill, who is destined for Chelsea, and is reportedly prepared to spend around $4million on the promising Ream.
