Ambroise Oyongo was on the scoresheet as Cameroon drew 1-1 with Mali in the African Cup of Nations on Tuesday.
The New York Red Bulls defender started at right-back for Volker Finke's Indomitable Lions in their Group D opener in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea and scored his side's only goal as they shared the spoils with the Malians.
Oyongo, who mainly operated as a left-back for New York in MLS last season, cut in from the right to control a lofted cross from Raoul Loe with his right foot before finishing with his left for the equaliser in the 84th minute after Sambou Yatabare's 71st-minute opener.
The goal was Oyongo's first at international level in his eighth appearance for Cameroon who next take on Guinea on Saturday.
