Ryan Meara insists his sole focus this season will be on loan club New York City FC.
The 24-year old goalkeeper will spend the 2015 MLS campaign on loan with the expansion franchise from crosstown rivals New York Red Bulls but insists he is not thinking about what is happening at Red Bull Arena as he prepares for his temporary clubs debut season in the USA and Canada's top flight.
"Honestly, I don't even think about it. I'm here. I'm happy to be here," Meara told the New York Daily News.
"I'm looking forward to the season. For me, I'm on NYCFC, simple as that."
Meara, who is ineligible to play against the Red Bulls during 2015, is working his way back to full fitness from a knee injury and is hoping he can force his way into head coach Jason Kreis' starting eleven before too long after struggling for game time in New Jersey last season.
"That's the tough part of being a goalkeeper - if the guy's doing good and he's healthy and the team's winning, you're never changing. So it was a little frustrating over there (with the Red Bulls) for me," Meara added.
"But I like to think I grew a lot from it and hopefully now once my knee gets back to 100 percent, I'll be pushing for the starting spot."
