NYRB's Henry, Chivas USA's Angel agree on Agudelo move

Former Premier League stars Thierry Henry and Juan Pablo Angel both agree that Juan Agudelo's trade from New York Red Bull to Chivas USA was a good move.

The surprise shift happened last week with plenty of Red Bull fans disagreeing with the decision but striker Henry and Agudelo's new teammate Angel suggest it is something that will help the youngster become a better player.

"(General Manager) Erik Soler said it at halftime against Montreal: He wanted to go. So you've got to respect that," Henry said.

"He wasn't playing here, so I thought and he thought actually that it was a waste of time for him. We wish him all the best. It is what it is. I know some people were upset about it, had (something) to say about it but at the end of the day if you think about Agu, he had to play. It's good for him."

Angel added: "I was delighted (for the deal) first off because - I don't know anything about the circumstances here, just looking from the outside - he wasn't playing much, and at his age he needs to play.

"Nobody is going to guarantee him to be a starter, but if he's considered part of the starting group then it's up to him to perform accordingly too it and maintain his place."
