NYRB's Henry, Cahill not bothered by management changes

Recent changes in the New York Red Bull front office have not worried the clubs star players.

The MLS giants appointed Jerome de Bontin as their new general manager, replacing Erik Soler, but Thierry Henry and Tim Cahill feel it will not affect the performance of the playing group.

"That's not the type of thing you want to have at the end of the season, but I've been involved with so many things and so many teams that it does happen," said Henry. "All we can do is focus on what we have in front of us. Obviously, [I] say thank you to Erik Solér for what he has done, but that's the way the game is."

Cahill added: "I'm a footballer, not a businessman. Regardless what goes on behind the scenes, our main effort is to play football for the club and put the jersey on and giving everything. That's definitely not my side, so that's for the coach, I suppose.

"It can't be [a distraction]," he said. "We get paid to play football and that's the one thing I'm drumming into my players, is to focus on the game and nothing off it, because we can't let it be an excuse."
