New York Red Bulls head coach Hans Backe has called on his other attacking players to ease the scoring burden on Thierry Henry and Kenny Cooper.
Between them, the pair have netted nine of the side's 10 goals in four MLS matches in 2012, and Backe has implored his wingers - such as Joel Lindpere and Dane Richards - to help get further forward and provide some goals for the Red Bulls.
"The wide players have to make a difference, 1v1, taking them on, a bit more confident in the attacking game and obviously produce more chances.''"We need a little more from our wide players when we're on the road. Wide right, wide left has to be a little bit more creative. I think that's the key,'' said Backe.
And Jamaican winger Richards is aware he and the other attacking midfielders need to step up when times get tough.
"Other players are going to be left open if they try to close down Henry, so other players have to step up and finish.""The strikers are doing a great job: We just have to try to get some goals other than Henry and Cooper,'' said Richards.
