New York Red Bulls head coach Mike Petke has rubbished reports that Juninho was set to retire this summer.
The 38-year old Brazilian midfielder joined the Red Bulls from Vasco da Gama at the beginning of the season but some reports have suggested he was set to draw the curtain on his career in the middle of the 2013 MLS campaign.
Petke said of the former Lyon star: "Juninho is raring to go. He practiced fully yesterday. He's available for the weekend.
"Look, Juninho's 38-years-old, so I'm sure he's thinking about his future. I know nothing about him stating (he was retiring now).
"He has not stated to us, or has not said anything that I know of, about anything about his future. So I honestly have no comment on that, other than he is ready to roll this weekend and anxious to get out there."
