New York Red Bull head coach Hans Backe admits he is short on fit players for their fourth round US Open Cup clash with Harrisburg City Islanders.
The Red Bulls are away to the Islanders on Tuesday night but go in with a long list of injuries which has Backe slightly deflated as he is determined to win the competition this season.
"We are very shorthanded. We have 13 outfield players, the whole roster that is left, only three subs. But that's all the guys in.""Absolutely. It's a high priority. Like we said in the beginning of the year, we should make a run for the cup," said Backe.
And Backe was also worried about the fact that his side would have to play away again after their third round trip to Charleston with a trip to either DC United or Philadelphia Union for the quarter-finals if they make it.
"I would like to see who makes the draw. In every other country in the world you do it on (television). No one knows what is going on here, so I'm a little bit p**sed with that, I must say.""We've been unlucky to play on the road all the time," Backe added. "Tomorrow if we win, we will have to play the third game on the road, which makes me a little bit frustrated when I look at other teams getting three home games in a row.
