New York Red Bulls have secured the services of Colombian defender Wilman Conde.
The 29-year old former Chicago Fire star has joined the Red Bulls after his contract with Mexican club Atlas expired and will link up with his new teammates in Mexico for pre-season camp this week.
New York sent $100,000 in allocation money to Chicago for the right of first refusal for Conde before completing the deal which has delighted general manager Erik Soler.
"During his stint in Major League Soccer, Wilman quickly established himself as one of the League's top defenders and he will play an immediate role in our back line. He is strong, physical and experienced and he will be a tremendous addition to our club.""One of our offseason priorities was to solidify our defense and adding Wilman certainly does that," said Soler.
