New York Red Bull head coach Mike Petke is hoping Peguy Luyindula can whip himself into shape very soon.
The former Paris Saint-Germain striker is on trial with the Red Bulls and although his attacking capabilities are evident, Petke suggests his lack of fitness is a worry.
"He's obviously played at a very high level. It's about him getting fit, and we're under the impression that we're going to give him the opportunity to get fit and take it from there," said Petke.
"We see some very good things in him, but he's not game-shape fit. As player of his background and where he's been, I think it's only fair to give him the opportunity to show his best."
