New York Red Bull have played coy on the potential capture of Aston Villa midfielder Stephen Ireland.
The 25-year old Irish midfielder has reportedly been told he can leave Villa Park this summer for a transfer fee of around of $5million and has been linked a move to New York.
But Red Bulls general manager Erik Soler was non-committal on the possibility of signing Ireland when quizzed on the matter.
"We have said I don't like to comment on things that doesn't directly involve us, so I can't comment anything on it," Soler said regarding Ireland.
