NYRB coach Petke plays down altercation with Arsenal great Henry

Thierry Henry and Mike Petke clashed at New York Red Bulls training late last week ahead of the weekend's meeting with DC United.

French great Henry did not start as the Red Bulls won 2-1 at home, coming on for the final half hour, but Petke told the press that everything between he and Henry was fine.

"Listen, I've said it already two days ago. He's an emotionally fiery person which I love about him and I'm an emotional fiery person," he said.

"This happens all over the world everywhere. It's just news here because it's the Red Bulls and it's Thierry Henry. It's really much ado about nothing.

"We immediately cleared the air and he's on board 100%. He was a huge spark coming off the bench and providing us with an immediate danger, dangerous play there. He did great tonight along with the whole team."

However, Henry refused to talk to the media after the win, using the following as an excuse: "You know I don't talk when I don't play."

The fact he replaced goalscorer Tim Cahill prior to the hour-mark must have been lost on the Arsenal legend.
