According to head coach Hans Backe, New York Red Bulls are close to landing an unnamed left-wing target.

The club has been hoping they could attract a left-sided winger for some time now and the Swedish tactician said they were not far away but declined to name names.

"I hope we can land it before Thursday. I think so. Erik (Soler, GM) is doing it but I think he is out of contract. But you'll like him," Backe said.
