NYCFC appoint ex-Derby County chief Glick as president

New York City FC have announced the appointment of Tom Glick as the clubs new president.

The MLS expansion franchise have confirmed Glick has landed the presidential role ahead of their inaugural season in the USA and Canada's top flight.

Glick steps into the position after spending time with a number of different sporting clubs in various positions including Vice-President of Marketing and Team Business Operations at NBA Headquarters in New York City, Chief Marketing Officer for the New Jersey Nets (NBA), Chief Executive Officer at Derby County Football Club (English Championship), Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer for Manchester City Football Club (Premier League) and Managing Director of City Football Marketing.

Glick, who officially begins his new job on February 1, said in a statement: "This role for this Club is arguably one of the most exciting in soccer right now. I am thrilled to take up the responsibility and the challenge.

"After two years of laying the foundations for this inaugural season and beyond, we have an incredibly talented team both on and off the pitch. I very much look forward to playing my part in leading and supporting them as we embark on the next and most important stage of our development."
