FC Nurnberg will have to do without key midfielder Makoto Hasebe for up to six weeks.
The Bundesliga club have been dealt a major blow with news that the Japan international has torn a medial ligament during a midseason friendly with Steaua Bucharest.
Hasebe fell awkwardly during der Club's 5-1 win on Tuesday night and will now return to Nuremberg on Thursday.
The former VfL Wolfsburg star, who has made 13 appearances since joining the Franconian club in the summer, may be sent for surgery to aid his rehabilitation and will miss at least four weeks of action.
