Portsmouth striker David Nugent has returned to England following hernia surgery in Germany.
The forward pulled up sharply during Pompey's FA Cup win over Plymouth at the weekend and was sent to Germany for assessment.
The German specialist opted to send Nugent under the knife and he is now back in England after the operation passed off without a hitch.
Pompey have not yet set a timescale for the forward's return to competitive action.
"David had his operation on Wednesday and will rest at home for a few days," Pompey physio Gary Sadler told the club's official website. "We will start work with him in the gym on Monday."
