David Nugent is digging in his heels at Portsmouth.

The Mirror says Nugent has told Harry Redknapp he will not be forced out of Portsmouth.

The Pompey boss wants to offload Nugent a year after signing him for £6m from Preston.

Premier League Hull and Stoke want him but the 23-year-old striker is adamant he will not be leaving Fratton Park.

Nugent is reluctant to join a club whose stay in the top flight may be brief and is prepared to sit out the remaining three years of his £27,000- a-week deal if necessary.
