Nth Qld's Pasfield ready to be number one

North Queensland Fury goalkeeper Justin Pasfield is intent on winning the number one position at the new A-League club.

The 23-year old has spent the past few seasons learning his craft under more seasoned shot-stoppers such as Liam Reddy, Clint Bolton and Ante Covic and feels he is ready to take the gloves when the 2009/10 season rolss around.

"I was at Sydney FC for the first two years and dribs and drabs of clubs when they needed someone in there," Pasfield told the Townsville Bulletin.

"But now I'm here for two years and I'm really looking forward to settling in and really pushing for the No. 1 spot.

"I'm not here to settle as a second-choice keeper, I'm here to play football.

"I think I've had enough time sitting on the bench.

"I feel I've bided my time and now it's my time to shine."
