North Queensland Fury coach Ian Ferguson does not believe his close relationship with Craig Moore will influence him to join the club next season.

Moore suddenly left the Brisbane Roar last week after a falling out with coach Ange Postecoglou and has been linked with a move to either the Gold Coast United or the Fury after the World Cup later this year.

Ferguson expects him to make a decision that will suit his family and not base it on the fact the pair played together at Rangers between 1993 and 2000 and admits other clubs are interested in the Australian international.

''Not really, there are other clubs interested, he's a good player,'' Ferguson said.

''It's like Charlie Miller, Charlie Miller obviously moved from Brisbane to Gold Coast and it saved him all the upheaval of moving his family and his kids and his house.

''I'm sure Miron (Gold Coast coach Bleiberg) knows he's going to be getting a good player, so I'm sure he's going to be in his ear as well.

''So it's very difficult, whether we've got a friendship or not, they've got to make the right decisions for their family and I want them to make the right decisions for the family.''

Moore is expected to sign a short-term loan deal with Scottish club St Johnstone ahead of the World Cup which kicks off in July.
