The Football League has given the green light for a Greek consortium to complete the takeover of Championship outfit Nottingham Forest.

The tumultuous five year reign of Fawaz Al Hasawi at Nottingham Forest finally looks set to come to an end after it was revealed that the Football League have given a Greek consortium the go-ahead in their planned takeover at the City Ground.

Shipping magnate Evangelos Marinakis, owner of Olympiacos, and consortium partner Socrates Kominakis have passed the Football League's owners and directors test and will now purchase 100 stake of Forest from Al Hawasi for an undisclosed fee.
