Notts County have swooped for released Houston Dynamo striker Ade Akinbiyi. Akinbiyi was cut loose by Dynamo last month to make room for Luis Angel Landin, the club's first Designated Player.

Magpies chief Peter Trembling confirmed yesterday: "Ade Akinbiyi will join us, subject to a medical. That's the only signing we've got in mind at the moment."
