Notts County are hoping to lure young Manchester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel to the club.

The Magpies are reportedly looking to sign Danish shot-stopper on a free transfer despite the fact he has two years left on his current contract.

Schmeichel has been keen to leave Eastlands for some time now to secure regular first team football and although a move to League Two is a massive step down, it could be an option, especially seeing as his former City boss Sven Goran Eriksson is director of football at Meadow Lane.
