Notts County chief Sven Goran Eriksson has moved for Fenerbahce superstar Roberto Carlos.
The News of the World says the former England boss, now director of football at Meadow Lane, wants the world-famous defender to join his growing ultra-ambitious League Two outfit.
Last month the Swede persuaded ex-Arsenal star Sol Campbell to ignore offers from Premier League sides to join his revolution alongside the River Trent.
And now he wants to add World Cup-winner Carlos, who is available on a free from Turkish side Fenerbahce where he has spent the past two years since leaving the Galacticos at Real Madrid.
A Meadow Lane source said: "Sol Campbell was the first big-name signing - but he won't be the last.
"In the next couple of weeks the club hopes to bring in four or five other top names, either on free transfers or on loan.
"Roberto Carlos is top of the list. There have already been talks and he wants big, big wages but that's OK - money is not an issue here."
