Notts County face selling Hughes, Schmeichel

Notts County face being forced to sell their top earners.

The Daily Mail says Notts County could be forced to sell some of their bigger names such as Kasper Schmeichel and Lee Hughes in January after their change of ownership.

Chief executive Peter Trembling completed his takeover of the club from owners Munto Finance on Saturday for a nominal fee but uncertainty still surrounds the club, with Sven Goran Eriksson expected to depart.

Trembling says he is hopeful that Eriksson will stay in his £2million-a-year role and believes he will be able to drum up fresh investment for the League Two outfit.

He said: "We have restructured the ownership of the club and anticipate this will be an ongoing process."
