Peter Trembling has revealed that League Two outfit Notts County are investigating "a number of financial anomalies" at the club since Munto Finance's takeover. He told the club's official website: "Our supporters will be aware of an outstanding sum of money with HMRC, which was resolved last week.
"In dealing with this matter and as a result of further and ongoing due diligence, we have uncovered a number of financial anomalies that are being investigated.
"In an ideal world, a longer period of due diligence would have been entered into before the acquisition of the club. However, the circumstances of the club and the start of the football season dictated that the purchase had to be completed in a much shorter timeframe in order to protect the long-term interests of the club."
