Notts County boss Craig Short was delighted to celebrate Meadow Lane's centenary with a 4-0 win over Yeovil. Before the game, a troop of Magpies legends had done a lap of honour on the pitch, and Short was pleased the pressure had not got to his side.
He said: "I said to the players that these are the best days of your life - a manager told me that when I was 30 years old.
"Sometimes you feel the pressure as a player, especially when you see these ex-players walking around the pitch, some with dodgy knees and dodgy hips.
"But these lads are young and strong and fit, and they should enjoy every game. They shouldn't put any pressure on themselves, and we certainly don't do that from our side. Football is such a short-lived career that you want to come off the pitch thinking you've given everything. Sometimes we will get beaten, but we want to put a performance in every time."
